Do say something funny so she can laugh! July 10, 2009Posted by bookbutterfly in blogs and blogging, books, friends, holidays, movies, quizzes, school and other academic stuff, websites, writings.

I pulled this off from Goodreads, though the original quote is “Now, do say something funny so she can admire!” It’s from River Secrets, and as most of you probably already know, I’m reading it right now, but I haven’t yet got to the part where that quote is but it just randomly stuck in my head because it fits so well with what I want to say.
First of all, I have been swamped (and I know I haven’t used that word sparingly, but I really, honestly do mean that this time) with work, and really cannot keep this up on a regular twice or three times a week basis. But also, I’m just a bit stressed at the moment. Well, actually, quite stressed.
I won’t go into details, but allow it to suffice to say that I’m in need of a break which I cannot get ahold of, and I feel like I’m just going up and down with everything.
And I feel guilty. I shouldn’t complain. It’s summer. I’m on vacation. And despite all the work I’ve had to do, I’ve had some of my own share of fun. I’ve been watching a LOT of movies. I’ve been staying up reading. I’ve made it a habit to stay up so late that two in the morning is quite early for me now. Especially after this week I stayed up until five twice.
And why am I complaining? I have good movies, good books, good websites, good blogs to read (which I haven’t lately; I have four hundred fifty unread items on Google Reader, but most of it is probably because I subscribe to three different Harry Potter fan sites, and you know how much buzz there is right now. Plus, I have so many of those interviews and fun Harry Potter stuff, so it’s still counted as unread. I don’t just zip through it and really take it in, you know.), writing that I want to do (including some quizzes and reviews! Funness!) and…good friends! So, that’s why I’m turning to you guys. Since I haven’t seen a single friend since school got out (except for a couple friends from my old school who are sisters that I got to talk to for a bit after Mass one day because they also happened to attend church at the same time), I’m asking you guys for a bit of help. This should be easy though.
As the title of this post states, I want something amusing. Funny. They could be articles, videos, songs, something Harry Potter related would be nice… You can e-mail them, or post them right here.
Or you can comment with funny questions for my FAQ (or FAQTWNRABSB, as I actually call it) on Butterfly Forest. Check it out here.
Or, if you’d like, you can guest blog on here. You can blog about anything. You can talk about potatoes. You can talk about how you began to collect slinky toys. I don’t really care what you blog about as long as it’s appropriate and clean, and contains more than one word and isn’t the length of a novel. Oh yes, and no posting your own writing…not that I’m against that, this blog just doesn’t seem like the right place to do that sort of thing. But you can talk about your own writing, or about writing in general. Honestly, I really don’t care about the topic except for those two…exceptions. 😛 😉
And WordPress changed their smilies!! Aw…I really miss the old ones. They remind me of LRRH. I miss LRRH, too. 😦
Praise Be! June 18, 2009Posted by bookbutterfly in blogs and blogging, books, friends, holidays, movies, school and other academic stuff.
Summer is here.
Did I just say that?
Summer is here.
This year has been…amazing. Wonderful. Last year left a lot of loose threads. But sophomore year has really tied them together, brought them around into full circuit, making me feel…whole again. It’s given me the opportunity to heal.
So. I shall give a full-blown break-down of every single thing that happened this year (it will be called “My Sophomore Year in a [Real] High School in Review”) tomorrow (if I have the time; I’m going to see Up in three-d tomorrow, and am I PSYCHED!!), BUT that’s the post I said I would private. And this is the post I said would explain why it’s privated. Reason being is that there might be a handful of ridiculous stuff I don’t want read by some schmoe, as well as…well, yes. Maybe a tad bit of boasting. I don’t brag often, but I will be listing awesome stuff. Like accomplishments that I’m proud of. If you want to be “in the know”, the post will have the same password as the other password-protected posts, so no surprise there. If you don’t know the password, e-mail me. Or if you’d rather not hear read me drone on and on about me, me, me (because I really, really, really hate doing that. I’ll refrain from sounding egocentric, I promise), you can chat with me about it.
Again, this summer will be filled with MANY things I’ll be doing. One being maintaining this blog, and POSSIBLY privating it to add some stuff in the meantime.
I shall be doing some (more) literary stuff though. I’m halfway through Enna Burning at the moment, and have thirty-eight more books to read before the month is out (eep!). So I shall read, or maybe do some Goodreads-ing.
Today, I plan to convince my father once and for all to set up a Facebook so he can deem it safe and I can get one myself. Then later I plan to record myself singing AND guitar-playing MY OWN SONG. Cripes. I may do other things. Technically, my summer vacation (if “summer vacation” is defined as a time during the summer when you can do whatever you want) lasts for only three days: tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday. And then it’s done. *weep*
Man. It’s almost seven o’clock. That means the seniors at my school will be graduating in five minutes. *sniffle* I’m not worried for my senior friends, I know they’re going to successful young adults. It’s just that it’s going to be really sad not seeing them around anymore. Now I’m not so happy as I was when I began writing this post. There is something quite bittersweet about the last day of school. Of course, I skipped a whole year of a proper last-day-of-school-sending-off. But that’s a whole ‘nother story. No need to get into that.
YouTube, Netflix, and Lists July 25, 2008Posted by bookbutterfly in blogs and blogging, books, movies, survey.

I’m BA-ACK! Again.
Anyway, I got a YouTube account! It’s right here, so if you want to watch my fave vids or friend me, go right ahead and do so. Enjoy! And yes, that I am indeed subscribing to country music artists. *is very proud of self*
Anyone who gets movies from Netflix? I’ve seen so many movies already (I’ve been listing them) and, well, we’ve been getting a lot of cool stuff!
Speaking of lists, I’ve been making a ton of lists lately: favorite books, favorite movies, and how I compare to the typical teen (the last of which I found 25 MAJOR differences at least). If wanted, I can delight you all in lists in those (Netflix movies seen, favorite books, favorite movies, and the differences lists).
Another thing: I’ve been needing to change the template. I shall be doing that soon and try to post more on both here, B1000, and BF. Sorry for holding y’all up! 😦
Last but not least, I have a sort of survey question for everyone: What’s the best book that you’ve read this summer, not counting re-reads?
Talk About Crazy Dreams! June 20, 2008Posted by bookbutterfly in books, dreams, movies, writings.

I don’t know why, but ever since summer “officially” started again, I’ve been having crazier dreams than ever. Maybe my “creativity” is coming back to me, or something, but I’ve been having really random dreams. You know, stuff like LRRHers in a wagon cart *roll*, but last night I had a really, really, weird dream. It was like I was watching a movie; a Hayao Miyazaki movie, but it was adapted from MY book. But I’ve never had the idea for this book before. It was so real, so when I woke up this morning (ok, at 11 am, then), I thought, “THAT is my idea for my book!” You see, last night I officially decided to be a writer. Officially decided. It’s going to be hard, I know, but just maybe this idea–this crazy idea–is going to be the book that will help me be a writer. I know, I know, I probably sound like my brain is in fairy-tale land or whatever, but it’s true! Anyhow, so in addition to writing Heaven’s Stars and Pandora’s Box, I’m going to write this new one. I think I’ll call it…The Elements, though that’s tentative.
Other BB news…hm…oh, yes, I finished Part 1 of B1000 last night and I’m in Part 2 now! I started really reading it on Monday (shows you how slow I am), so hopefully I’ll be able to do a review on it next wk on Butterfly Forest! Stay tuned! 😀
You’re Like: Audrey Hepburn
Stylish, sophisticated, subdued and always impeccable, both in dress and demeanor, that’s Audrey and that’s you, too. The actress won people over with her onscreen skills and her off-screen charity work helping children in need. She’s the ultimate example of someone who is beautiful inside and out.
Want to rent some films starring Audrey? Check out Roman Holiday, Sabrina, My Fair Lady or Funny Face. Modern-day actresses you have a lot in common with are Natalie Portman, Joy Bryant and Penelope Cruz.
w00t! Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress of all-time! I’ve seen most all of her movies. I’ve taken quizzes like this before, and I always get her. My mom always says I sorta have the same little chin as she does; Audrey is also my mom’s favorite actress, that she also thought about naming me Audrey! I’m so happy I got Audrey!!!!!!! 😀 *happy dance*
[edit: the quiz can be taken here.]
Random Question… May 20, 2008Posted by bookbutterfly in books, miscellaneous, movies, survey.
This is something completely random, but it’s been bugging me for the past several days.
Okey-doke, so I have this fictional character tag thing coming up, but before I post it, I was wondering what fic characters I remind y’all of? Like when you see me on LRRH or on here or wherever, what character from where do you see me as?
Thanks, everyone! 😀
