…then use Jango! I love my Jango Juke Box! (That’s why the first thing you hear when you come on here is some country playing. I’m interested to see what song plays when you come on here. Comments on that please!) Jango is so awesome. I just found it a few minutes ago, and love it. So for those WordPress bloggers out there who love music but can’t use Project Playlist, use Jango! It’s faster, and you just add in artists and there’s your music! Me luv it! π
Also, IΒ needΒ some opinions regardingΒ OpenID. I’m trying to figure out what name to use. Sounds dumb, I know, but you see, I’m not sure whether to do “bookbutterflyangel”, “bookbutterfly”, “Lady Dashti” (I know, it’s a laugh, but it’s cute, and I’m really thinking of using this one), or “Lady Dashti (BB)”. Suggestions s’il vous plait?
Another thing:Β I’m going to have password-protected excerpts coming soon, so be on the look out! I’ve got a password planned, so you can just comment that you’d like me to e-mail it to you. I probably won’t be able to PM stuff for awhile. Sorry about any inconveniences. π¦ There will be more real BB blogging coming later, with a lot more stuff on what’s going on in my life…more fun stuff. I hope I’ll be able to start something called The Scoop (tentative title), about stuff that’s buzzing right now about things that
On a last note, to avoid some confusion, this is THE blog of bookbutterfly. I’m no longer using Blogger for my main blogs. I’ve officially moved.
I think Lady Dashti is pretty awesome, but you may be easier to recognize as bookbutterfly.
Also: Your sidebar isn’t working for me. Is it just me?
Hm…I think I’ll go with Lady Dashti, but I’m interested in hearing others opinions!
Do you mean Jango? It works for me. You have to wait about 5 secs for it to load, and then it’s fine. Also, if there is a certain artist in the gallery you want to listen to, click on their photo. π
Nice. π And I’d like the password! rbcc.joy AT gmail DOT com
Actually, BB, I’m pretty sure that for OpenID, your name would be perfectgoodluck because that’s your URL. So like if you leave a comment on Blogger using your OpenID, you’d be perfectgoodluck. Like I’m thegoosegirl; I didn’t necessarily pick it, except when I created my WordPress blog.
And email me the password please! speak2wind [AT] gmail [DOT] com. π
Me thinks Anilee is correct about the OpenID thing.
Anyway…
I’d love to have the password. π
starzjess [AT] gmail [DOT] com
Rebecca, Anilee, Leigha: I’m going to send it to you guys…right now! π
Anilee: I tried Lady Dashti when making a comment at Delaney’s blog, and it went through as Lady Dashti; it just links to here. I think I’m going to go with Lady Dashti, though. π
The first time I used it, my name went through as “anilee”, but the second time, it just automatically used “thegoosegirl” since that’s the URL I have to enter for it to even link.
Hm…well, I’ll try again on someone else’s blogger blog. π
I think if you marked that you want it to just automatically accept your OpenID on Blogger, then it won’t use your name. But if you didn’t mark that and choose to keep giving permission, then it would use your name.
Alos, if you emailed the password out, I didn’t get it.
I just left a comment on anime’s blog, and it went through as lady dashti, but this time I selected that I want it to say that everytime. So…maybe it’ll keep using lady dashti? I’m not sure. π
Hehe…I didn’t send it yet. Sorry! I just switched computers a few mins ago and didn’t get to send it. π¦
No, it’s that the sidebar content was under all the posts. It’s working now, though.
That happened to me once last night, too. Glad it’s working now! π
Anilee, Rebecca, Leigha: I sent you the e-mail. You should have gotten it by now. π
Didn’t get it.
And sorry, but the Jango is annoying me. But only because I’m listening to my own music and two songs at the same time…isn’t fun.
Anyway…I don’t think it will save your name. I mean, because I would have okayed it as “anilee”, and I don’t appear as anilee (which is why I sign comments I leave through OpenID). But I could be wrong and missed something. π
Really? Can I send it to you through the todwellondreams one?
Sorry! There’s a pause button on the Jango Juke Box, btw. π
Hm, I posted on Delaney’s blog again, and I think it came up as Lady Dashti; but let me check, since comments have to be approved. π
Yeah. Go ahead.
I know, but it takes a while for it to load, so I sort of forget that I need to pause it. π
Then maybe it does work…just I know that Felicity’s comments show up as lookbooks and Leigha’s as stargazer100 and mine as thegoosegirl, so…
Done! π
Hm…it takes about 5 seconds. Sorry for the annoyance. π¦
Well, I’ll just keep commenting on people’s Blogger blogs, but it comes up as Lady Dashti so far, which is good. π edit: I just saw: on Delaney’s blog, it comes up as “perfectgoodluck”. Oh well. π¦
I still didn’t get it.
It’s okay, BB. π
I’ll PM it to you then; is that OK?
What song comes up, btw, when you come on here?
Yep. Thanks. It’s a cute password. π
Faith Hill, “Cry”.
And thanks for telling me about Jango; I’m listening to the “Counting Crows” station, though I added some other artists I like (*coughcoughJoshGrobancoughcough*) though actually, most were already recommended as similar artists (Hootie and the Blowfish–they opened for the Counting Crows the one time–the Wallflowers, Matchbox Twenty, the Goo Goo Dolls, The Fray…)
I’d like the password!
fantasyverity[AT]gmail[DOT]com
Anilee: Thanks! Yeah, I thought it’d be that song. I’m trying to learn it on the guitar. You know Faith Hill did a duet w/ your “beloved”? “Cry” is a really good song; it’s not really that country, kinda vocal. You’re welcome about Jango! They did the same for me; they recommended me stuff that I liked. π
Merissa: OK! I’ll do that now. π
Gah! Anytime I want to come here, I start typing in “bookbutterfly”. ‘Tis annoying.
I shall get used to it.
Anyway…
Yes. I think I knew that he and Faith did a duet. I did know that, actually, because it came up on LRRH one time and faith was like, “I didn’t sing with anyone!” It had to be about that.
Anyway…
‘Tis interesting. I haven’t hit pause, so it’s this song and then it’s “Time Is Standing Still”. All-American Rejects.
But yes. Music I like. ‘Tis lovely. π
I haven’t gotten an email, BB. π
Yeah, Josh and Faith sang the First Noel together. π
Oh, that must get really annoying! Sorry for the confusion and all. I never type; I just go to GoogleReader or my links. π
OK, BB is going to say something that’s going to have everyone le gasping; Faith Hill does better duets with Josh Groban than Tim McGraw. Note I say this after listening to “I Need You” (which Faith Hill did w/ Tim McGraw and that wasn’t the greatest song π ). They’re just SITTING there throughout the entire vid. Haha, I could totally see Faith (LRRH Faith) say that! π
*is confused* What song and “Time is Standing Still”? π
Leigha: I’ll send you a PM. Is that OK w/ you? π
Jango is so much easier and faster than Project Playlist. And less weird ads, too, I think.
That’s okay. Like I said, I’ll get used to it. π
Well, that’s because Josh Groban is amazing. π
The one on your Jango.
Ah…”How to Save a Life” is ending…Love this song. Remind me I want to steal this CD from my older brother.
Project Playlist is nice because you can pick the songs, but this is a lot quicker because it’s just the artists and it’s more random so you can listen to more music, like even songs you don’t know about, but then you get your favorites too. π
OK! π
He’s a good singer, but I’m still not diagnosed with Grobanitis, btw.
Oh…what was it? π
They always play that on our local radio station.
Yeah…you don’t have to fiddle around too much. And you find more songs from your fave artists. π
It’s too much to hope for. π
“Cry”.
“Only One.” Lifehouse. Haven’t listened to this CD in ages.
Haha. I shalt never be converted!! π
“Want To”. Me luv that song.
I know. π
R.E.M. “Losing My Religion”
My mom tries to convert me, too, you know. I still refuse to convert, though.
Just listened to an Ashley Monroe song I’ve never heard. ‘Tis so sad that her CD never came out. π¦ And she’s so talented! Then it was “Who I Am” but the audio was horrible; now it’s “Battle”, which reminds me of B1000. π
I know. π
Counting Crows. “Round Here”. Love love love this song. Love the live version from Across a Wire Disc 2 but whatever.
It was “Let Me Go” by 3 Doors Down which totally makes me think of Jace, but then my stupid internet decided to stop working.
“Bubbly”, which is ending…what’s going to start next? “There Will Come a Day” (Faith Hill).
“I can’t see nothing nothing round here…”
It’s ending…
Now it’s “Drowning”. Hootie and the Blowfish. π
“Right Kind of Wrong”, LeAnn Rimes. ‘Twas used in the Coyote Ugly movie, I think. Weird beginning. Not country at all. Still pretty good, though. I’ll probably buy it from iTunes.
Don’t know it.
“And I’m not gonna worry any more I’m not gonna bend I’m not gonna break I’m not gonna worry about it any more…”
“Anna Begins”. One of my favorite songs EVER. Counting Crows rock. You should listen to them, if you don’t. “Come Around” has a country pre-intro, imho.
“Life in a Northern Town”. Sugarland. ‘Twas an old 80s song by a Brit folk band, Dream Academy.
No, I’ve never listened to their songs. Or not that I know of. I’ve probably heard them on the radio but didn’t know it was them. π
“Over My Head (Cable Car)”. The Fray.
Do you know the song “Accidently in Love”? That’s them. Only nowhere near as good as the stuff on their CDs.
“Ordinary Day”. Vanessa Carlton. It’s ending! π¦
I wouldn’t know the song title…just the music. π
Vanessa Carlton’s okay. I like “A Thousand Miles”, but that’s about it. But she was great live. She opened for Lifehouse the one time.
I think it was written for Shrek 2. I don’t know the lyrics that well because I don’t really listen to it.
My cousin (the same one I was telling you about on LRRH) showed me how to play a bit of “A Thousand Miles”.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen Shrek 2 straight. I just saw the 3rd one afew day ago though.
“A Long December”. Another favorite. Counting Crows, of course. But it’s ending now.
I’ve only seen the first.
Jango introduced me to this Jewel song I’d never heard; it was called “Only Me Too” or something like that. It was really awesome! It was very rock, though, not country (even though she did take a country crossover).
Don’t know it. I know most of the songs I’ve been listening to. Go figure.
Now I’m listening to my iPod. “Settlin'”. Sugarland!! This is probably one of my #1 favorite songs. Tied w/ “Some Hearts” by Carrie Underwood. π
I haven’t, actually. They haven’t been giving me songs from artists I didn’t ask for. π
Don’t know either.
“The Last Song”. All-American Rejects.
I tend to skip songs I don’t know, especially if I don’t know the artist.
You should listen to them! “Some Hearts” at least. That one totally reminds me of B1000.
Same here. π
Do you have a link?
“Hannah Jane”. Hootie and the Blowfish. They’re a great band. π
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaQzqlZS93E. It’s just a bunch of random pics, but the song should work just fine.
*pauses “If You Leave” by Train*
It’s okay. Catchy…but I’m not a Carrie Underwood fan. I like Taylor Swift better. And okay, I like Taylor Swift. Happy?
‘Tis OK. My mom doesn’t like Carrie’s music at all. She prefers Faith and Alison Krauss. Yup, happy. Thanks for listening though! I thought the *B1000 SPOILERS* last part “Some hearts just get lucky sometimes” sounded eerily like B1000.
Her voice is too deep for my taste or something. She can sing, though. π
You can blame faith and the playlist on her blog. π
And you’re welcome. I’ve very musically agreeable now. Ever since my conversion. π
Could you please email me the password, BB? theeviloverlord666 [AT] gmail [DOT] com
Cry by Faith Hill came up for me.
Anilee: That’s why I think my mom doesn’t like her. She says Carrie bellows to much, like in “Last Name”. Awesome about Taylor though! Which songs? I can play some of them on the guitar. π
spider: Sure! I don’t think something’s right with my e-mail, so can you let me know whether it goes through or not?
Love your email address, spider. It suits you. π
I like “Should’ve Said No.”
Wait a minute…She was born in Wymossing, PA? That’s where our Borders and Barnes and Noble and Target and just about everything is. Like I go there like at least once every two weeks. Not kidding.
Ooh! “Should’ve Said No” is one of my fave Taylor songs to play!
I thought it was Reading…but yeah, she was from PA. Wow, that is so awesome! You 2 might have been neighbors at one point! π
Never neighbors, but still cool. π
My fave Taylor song of the moment is actually “Christmas Must Be Something More”. Seriously. I love listening to Christmas songs when it’s not Christmas. During Christmas makes it seem so commercialized. π I just listened to “Our Song”, though. : D
Oh, and BB, just for clarification: Reading and Wyomissing are close. Reading’s the county seat of Berks County, and Wymossing is pretty much this area’s shopping center (since Reading has no shopping). In this case, you could use Wymossing and Reading interchangably; I don’t think a lot of people outside this area would know where Wyomissing was. Actually, a lot wouldn’t know Reading, either; then you’d say an hour ourside Philadelphia, or two and half hours from New York City.
I don’t really listen to Christmas music like ever. But definitely not really during the Christmas season.
Oh, so basically, Reading and Wymossing are thought to be the same city by others unless you live near the area, right?
I listen to some Christmas music during Christmastime, but other times, it’s fun to sing them really loud off-key. π
Pretty much. Wymossing’s not a city, though; it’s more residential and commerical/retail. But the exit that takes you into Reading is two past the exit we take to go to Borders.
Off-key???
Oh, ‘kay, I get it now. π That’s still pretty neat that she lived near you. π
OK, maybe not totally off-key (I’m not tone-deaf, but I’m not the greatest singer either π ), but it’s still fun to sing Christmas songs very randomly. π
Yep. π
You’d be proud: I added her to my Jango station. Yep.
I can sing some songs. Like “Hanging by a Moment”. I can sing that pretty well.
And I’ve been listening to some Christmas songs. Blame Jango; most of the Josh Groban songs coming up are Christmas ones. So I listen. Obviously. π
Cool! I’m listening to her right now. The Olympic song, “Change”. I like it a lot! π
I can sorta sing and play “Other Side of the World” by KT Tunstall, which ain’t easy.
Grobanitis..
The email didn’t get to me.
I love singing Christmas songs at all times of the year. Unfortunately, my family gets mad at me if it’s not between Thanksgiving and New Years.
Spider, I’ll PM it to you instead some time tonight. I wonder what happened? π
Yay! I’m not alone in singing Christmas songs when it’s NOT Christmastime! π
