All forgiveness to Spider, for not doing this cool little meme! Spider tagged me to do it back in August, and, as you all know, I “disappeared” from the Internet world. *sniff* And I missed a ton of really cool looking memes. *sniffsniff* And…I’M FINALLY GETTING MY LIFE BACK!!!!!!!
Anyway…
1. List the 10 books/collected works/series that you would bring on a desert island.
2. (Optional) Say why you would bring them.
3. Link to the person who linked to you.
4. Tag 6 people to also do the meme.
5. Leave a comment to let those people know.
1. Everything by Shannon Hale–and while I’m on the island, I’d sneakily order new books. Hey, they’re part of the collection!
2. Harry Potter–no duh. I’m a total HP geek/rather obssessive fan.
3. All Things Jane Austen–need I say more?
4. Old-time classics for kids (e.g. Edward Eager, Eleanor Estes, E. Nesbit, etc.)–ok, so I cheated on this one. But I see these authors as almost all of one big series, since they all got ideas from each other, mention each other, and are very alike. And they’re such adorable stories.
5. All of Kate DiCamillo’s stuff–for when I’m in the animal fiction mood.
6. The Sisters Grimm–so what if the writing ain’t the best? They’re such fun books, and they crack me up.
7. American Girl/Girls of Many Lands–honestly, you can never outgrow these books. That’s exactly what I told my mom today when we got the Christmas catalog.
8. Lady Grace Mysteries (including the ones I’m having trouble getting my hands on!
)–Ah. Gotta love these. Historical fiction, mystery, diary format. Still mad at how the sequels will not be published in the US as far as I know. Hmph.
9. Novels from my childhood (e.g. Tomie DePaola, Roald Dahl)–not exactly a collection either, but these books stand up from when I was a little elementary school kid.
10. Classics like Jane Eyre and To Kill a Mockingbird that are unforgettable and that you can never get tired of.
I tag…hm, I hope you terrific gals haven’t been tagged yet: anime, Danielle, Delaney, Summermoon, and Faith.
edit: Also, very late thanks to Taiger for making those fabulous MOLDy banners! I have them all set up now! You can see an even bigger one on my “Who I Am” page! Also, please vote on my cute little poll on the side!
